It has taken me a really long time to learn online marketing strategies that ultimately make money. For years, I was an affiliate marketer who would put up websites, and have no real clue about how to drive targeted traffic to them. Driving targeted traffic to your websites is the key to making money online. Internet marketers have to be patient, diligent, and determined to get ahead in marketing. It is also important to be focused, and have the ability to stick with a project until it is completed. The following are three very important tips that have worked for me.
1. Find a community of like-minded affiliate marketers. To get ahead in internet marketing, you have to have the real support of others. You need a place like an internet marketing forum where you can go to read, learn, and test concepts. I was really bad about reading “super affiliate blogs” daily, and every week there seemed to be a new method to use to make lots of money online. Some of the techniques were only to make the blogger more money, and most of them were expensive, or did not work at all. Trust me, you don’t want to be left at square one more than once. Join several forums, and read as much as possible, you will start to see patterns of posts with the concepts. These are the strategies you need to use. They work.
2. Take advantage of Web 2.0. Before Web 2.0 and social bookmarking, I was creating websites and waiting for the traffic to pour in. I waited two years, making about $5 every three months. It was a sad place to be. Now with all of the places online that you can submit your websites to, there is no reason that you cannot land on the first page of Google. Use free social bookmarking tools like Onlywire, and submit content to article directories, and RSS directories.
3. Get to Work. Don’t wait around for someone else to steal your great idea. Stop agonizing about which products or services to market. Get started, and create original websites, Web 2.0 properties, articles, and advertisements. Get your site seen, and make your site interactive. Use free services like Feedburner to create email lists, and turn your visitors into customers.
When you learn online marketing concepts , and implement them correctly, there is nothing that can stop you from being an internet marketing success!
