It is not that difficult to find cheap airline tickets. You just have to combine planning and flexibility to give you the cheapest product.
Flexibility can save you a lot of money, when it comes to finding cheap air tickets. If you do not have to travel on a specific date, you can save a lot of money going in the low season instead of the high season. And you will not only save money on the air ticket. Also accommodation, food, sightseeing will often be cheaper.
The day of the week does also have an impact on the air ticket price. A typical business destination like Brussels cost more on a weekday (where all the businessmen needs them), while a ticket to a holiday destination might be more expensive in the weekend.
No matter of which day and month you choose, there are locations, there are always expensive to fly to. If that is the case, you can ask yourself, if you can find another place with similar attraction; but with a much lower air ticket price.
Even though it is possible to find good last minute ticket offers, you will normally find the cheapest tickets if you plan well ahead. When you have found the dates (and location) with the best price, try to do the same search in another ticket search engine. You can also try to do the same on the airline’s own website. Trying different websites can give you a better price.
So when trying to find the cheapest airline tickets, you should be flexible with the location and the arrival and departure day. Go in the low season on the right day; or visit some less popular places.
